You guys who rotate your tires--do it yourself or use the week/year of manufacture (unless more than one tire has the same week/year) or serial number on the tires to make sure they were rotated properly. I went to my Ford dealer for a $19.95 oil change and tire rotation. They didn't X the front tires when they moved them to the rear. The service manager said they just move them from front to back and back to front, keeping the tires on the same side of the car. That would be fine if I had directional tires, but I don't. I showed him the Owner's Guide. He then had the job done correctly. It's pathetic when a Ford service manager doesn't know how tires should be rotated.

Don't sweat the questions man, glad to help.
My reason to stagger was cosmetic, but since I have switched to a lower final gear (3.73) they have helped with grip out of the hole and tirespin. The down-side to staggering is tire rotation, and throw in a directional tire (like the nitto 555's) and you cannot even rotate the backs and fronts from one side to the other...bottom line, you gotta leave them where they are the life of the tire.
Personally if your car is aligned properly, tire rotation is overkill in most cases so I give little thought to the fact that you cannot rotate with staggered setups.

+1 That is one benefit of having a "live" axle over an independent rear end - the tires will wear evenly without rotation if you have good alignment.

Ok thanks Mayo for the info i will do some more thinking on this issue and consider everything you guys are saying. One more question do you guys recommend Tire Rack or DISCOUNT Tire Direct. I haved recentily bought 2 sets of tires from Discount and have been happy with their service and free shipping. They usually will cut the price to match any other online tire dealers prices.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. I've never had a problem with discount tire direct. I've ordered 4 sets of tires for my truck from them and have been extremely happy with the prices, shipping, and customer service. Just a thought, look at American Muscle. They carry some of the more popular tires, free shipping, and you get a forum discount.

I've been buying tires from the Tire Rack since 1994. Never had a problem...
