Default Rear-end walks during burnout

Hey all,

I was at the track a few weeks ago and the Mustang was doing something that it doesn't normally do.

When I would do a standing burn-out the rear-end kept walking out to the left. Most of the time it wasn't just a little bit, but the whole car would start to go sideways.

Any thoughts? Is this normal? If not, what might I be looking at for causes?

Thanks!

The ground was more than likely sloped a small amount in that direction. If there is room for it, try facing the other direction at the same spot and see if it goes to the right. I'll bet that is what will happen.

Don't know the answer for you but it seems to be fairly common occurrence on the tv show Pass Time.

He means angle the car just a little bit so it won't slide left as much. It happens to me sometimes too but I always attributed it to the open diff giving power to only 1 wheel.

Allow me to change my response somewhat. I'll bet one of two things is making this happen. first one is the surface isnt absolutely level. Not so likely to be the case on a track, but, possible nonetheless.
Second possibilty is that one tire isnt spinning at the exact same speed as the other. If one wheel was not spinning, the car would remain stationary from side to side
