Default AEM wideband sensor

Has anyone ever used a Bosch #17018 sensor with an AEM wideband? I bought one but am unsure if I should use it or not. The auction on ebay said it's simply plug and play but AEM's website seems to say that it won't work properly with their wideband and that I must buy THEIR sensor directly from them.
