stage 2 procharger
I know alot of you out there have vortech and x chargers but either way you know about sc's. I got mine with a 10psi tune, swapped to a 12psi pulley with no tune... idk if it was just me feeling the new power from the sc for the 2 days i had the 10psi pulley on it or not but it feels like i lost power... not even that i lost power but maybe just hitting max boost too soon? idk its kinda confusing but it seems like i hit max boost around 4-4.5k but doesnt seems to pull like it should but maybe its just me wanting more... anyways i want to slap on the 14psi pulley here soon but i want to make sure what im feeling right now haha... i was swapping a 5.0 into my car but decided against it so im just here asking the guys who have roughly the same build as me,
i have the stage 2 procharger p1sc with 12lbs, pace setter shorty headers, pypes x-pipe/no mufflers, bbk throttle body, t-lok, spec 2 clutch, hurst short shifter.
also another question, anybody ever had problems with their timing guiders or tensioners? when i 1st put on the sc i had bald tires so id smack 6k faster then i could react and now it makes 2 different noises, 1 sounds like a wrist pin i think and it makes this noise at idle or up to 2k and at any temperature, the second noise sounds like its the timing chain slapping on the passenger side in the back of the motor which is terrible if thats what it is cause you have to pull the motor... and it only makes that sound when its at normal operating temp and goes away after 2k as well... any suggestions on what it might be would be appreciated anyways

So what you are saying is you have a procharger with a 10psi tune, you put a 12 psi pulley on it and you're wondering why its not making good power/doesn't feel right? I'd get a tune for that new 12 psi pulley, you are also risking damaging your motor running 12 psi with a 10 psi tune...

Also, check the compression on your motor... If you have been running lean (2 psi more air volume with no additional gas) you could also be experiencing a loss of power from damage... I hope you are ok, but definitely get the proper tune, but check for damage.

Yep to all of the above, plus I did not see any mention of you having forged internals on your bottom end and once you start passing by the 10.5psi on a stock bottom end it no longer a matter of "if" but "how soon" will it fail. The tune is everything on these cars swaping in and out parts that change performance factors without tuning it is going to cause some major issues.

Now the OP does have a problem running on the wrong tune, but I haven't seen anything that supports the claim that the 4.0 (which I assume he has since he mentions Xcharger) will fail at anything over 10.5.

Where do you find this? I've been running 10-12 lbs of boost on my Xcharger for a LONG time - and the car has 198,200 on it right now on the stock bottom and top ends. Nothing else was done and the car will run mid 12's. The Xcharger went on at 90,000 miles and that was after two race seasons on a 75 shot of nitrous.
