Default Accelerator problem

Ok so i have an 07 gt/cs. and my gas pedal is like when i press it it wont take off slow, it whips my head back into my seat. Its either not moving or when i barely touch it my car shoots off. Ive heard of people having this problem nefore but never really looked into it. Any body have or had this? Or can offer any advice? Thanks

Sounds like a Bama Race tune. I am assuming you bought the car used? Does it have a CAI on it? It can be fixed with a new tune from any of the respected tuners out there. AM or Brenspeed. Do you have the SCT controller? If not you need that too to load the tune in. If you have no idea what I am talking about, just do a search on loading a tune into your car with a SCT.

Ok so you sister owned it. Did she do any modifications to it? Maybe her boyfriend did? I am assuming its an auto? If its truly stock I would clean your throttle body, that might help. If you dont know what that means. Just do a search. Its actually quite simple.

Oh hell no. Do not go to a dealer. Some TB cleaner spray from Napa dude. Its something simple. Could be the TPS....throttle position sensor. ( or was that for my truck....I cant remember now)

maybe the brushes on the pedal need adjusting or cleaning. See link. This is a mod to increase response but may apply..

Also do the following gas pedal/throttle body recalibration:

1- Reflash the ECU by disconnecting the battery's negative cable for 30 minutes.

2- Reconnect the battery cable.

3- Turn the key to the 'ON' position so all of the dashboard lights illuminate, and the chime starts(Do not start the engine).

4- Wait for the chime to stop.

5- Turn off all electrical accessories.

6- Press the gas pedal all the way down in one smooth motion while counting to 5 (1001, 1002....).

7- Slowly release the gas pedal while counting to 5.

8- Wait 6 seconds.

9- Turn key to 'OFF'.

10- Wait 6 seconds.

11- Repeat steps 3-10 twice more.

I'd do the pedal calibration like Ski described. Should fix it. If not, sounds like a mechanical issue with the pedal position sensor.
