I respect Carroll Shelby as much as anyone, and understand and appreciate his many contributions to automotive history. I, for one, however, am just darn sick and tired of anything that some assistant mechanic in Las Vegas once breathed on being sold for sums of money that are, by any measure, just ridiculous. What is even sadder is that people are apparently willing to pay that much. Every rich person I know is shrewd and pretty careful with their money; I don't know where these folks come from who line up to pay these astronomical prices that have no relationship to the value of the car. It makes me want to go out and buy a low-buck '07 Shelby and see how cheaply I could obtain close to the same power at a local shop. Sorry to rant, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but sometimes I get tired of millionaires--many of whom can't tell a piston from a spark plug--taking over the hobby. Please go back to your Ferrari, sir. Sheesh.
