Thankfully, I know the body shop and they do a lot of nice cars, and muscle cars, and the owner owns a Ford GT and races, but I totally hear you about not going forward with anything until I know there is no frame, chassis or Axel damage, and that is verified.

Only then will I consider the estimate not to be initial. The insurance adjuster has bee fine so far, but I made it clear that I am going forward with nothing until the car has been verified by an independent suspension mechanic. The shop is actually insisting on this anyway, and since I have a full set of correctly balanced summer tires to be put on the car after verification that the underbody is measurably not damaged , they can determine exactly what is damage from the accident since the damage does not impede the driving or movement of the car luckily

The shop is not letting the situation be rushed in any way until they verify what has actually happened. I can only hope the axel isn't bent. Erik
