I could not stand the black plastic trim either even on a white car. I like it much better body color. Just keep in mind if you get color matching rear valance the sides will need to be painted to flow

My rear is same as the sunset gold above but left a bit of black for contrast

I have sterling gray too and I don't think painting the black plastic trim on darker colored cars would make that much of a difference, but I do think painting the trim looks good on certain colors like mustang0672s sunset gold car.
