Default Front plates in Texas?

Can I not have a front plate and not get a ticket now? (or at least no have to pay for it)

talked to one of my friends and supposedly they made an error and the law this year doesn't state that you have to have a front plate, but it is expected that it will change back next year. I haven't ran a front plate on my new car since I got it in September... and no issues thus far.

I have been stopped a couple times. I always say I am getting one and they let me go. F'em. If I ever get a ticket it's just an equipment violation. I have no intention of fixing it. I made the dealer get me a new front bumper because they drilled the damn thing while i was signing papers. I stopped and said ok not paying a cent till u fix that.

Wink No Fron Plates

I had an '89 Corvette that I drove from 2001 until 2010 never put a plate on the front and never got pulled over...for the plate anyway

Now I have a '07 GT and purposely did not put the front plate on the car since March of last year and have had no issues from Johnny Law.

To be honest I have not heard what the actual law is now but I don't plan on putting one on until I am told to and even then I will have it in the car with me but not mounted on the bumper.

By the way I am in the DFW area Irving to be exact so there are plenty of cops rolling around here.

If you're not running a bumper cover that's got a lower grill insert, you can use the no-drill license plate holder that's available. You satisfy the local laws, and can easily remove it when appropriate (car shows, etc), and then reinstall it when you get stopped. It'll probably save you a ticket if you can demonstrate the ability to fix it immediately.

I'm not sure, but the more noticeable/flashy your car is, the more likely it is to attract extra-special attention from the cops. When I'm done with mine, it'll probably land solidly in that category.

I haven't ran a front plate in Texas for years. Only been stopped once on the way to the valley, and that was just a reason to check out my car. They let me go without a warning.

I haven't run a front plate on my mustand of my t-bird

I've gotten little add-ons to speeding tickets where they mention the plate but never pulled over just for the plate

I didn't think about it when I was signing the papers and I should have pushed back over the drilling, but I simpily put to cool'ish looking screws in the holes they put in

i just got pulled over a month ago for speeding and not having a front license plate. They classified it as improper display of registration. Now i get to set a trial to fight this bs. yayy.
