Default Any real driving lights that integrate well into 2010+ front end?

The HIDs on my 2010 GT, in a word, suck. Driving out in the country at night they are some genuinely crappy high beams. As long as the road is perfectly straight they are ok, but any curves and you simply can't see very far ahead.

The car of course has large, round fog lights of sorts in the grille. Some would say driving lights, but they are only on with the low beams and have a low, wide pattern so I'll call them fogs.

What I'm looking for is a real driving light to supplement my brights; a beam that projects far down the road and lights up a bit broader area. I do not care if it's road legal or not, I just want light out in front of me. I believe there is a PIAA kit that works on the 2005-2009 cars, but no word if it fits the 2010+; are they the same 'fog lights' in the grille on both generations? Hella makes the 500FF lights that are about 6.5" and supposedly are pretty decent and are pretty cheap. I may give these a go in the OEM fog light location and see how I do fabbing up some kind of mounting bracket.

I know I could bolt some offroad Hella Rally 4000s to my bumper with 130W bulbs and light up the world, but I'd like to be a bit more subtle in my appearance. Also, I have a Boss airdam on my car and need the brake ducting, so can't do projector beam driving lamps in that location. Nor do I want to block any air to the radiator, so that kinda screws up mounting any lights in the airdam.

Just curious if anyone has tried any real driving lights, how they mounted them up, and what the results were. Thanks!

Have you verified that your current headlights are aimed properly?

They're HIDs, so they better be aiming themselves properly. But yes, they illuminate road signs and such fine, so that's not the issue. The issue is they don't illuminate anything but straight ahead in a pencil beam. Bought the car new, never been wrecked, etc. Not an aiming issue. I'll be surprised if no one else chimes in that they also find them horrid, but maybe I'm just sensitive?

If you can find out who Ford sourced the fog lights from, maybe you can determine if they have regular driving lights, or even headlights that could be used.

First time I've ever seen a complaint about factory HIDs...
