Cost to have a few engine parts painted?
Hi,
I am looking to have my engine cover, coil covers and factory strut tower brace painted Kona Blue and got a verbal estimate of $800-900 with about 10 hours of labor. Does this sound a little too high to anyone else?
And while I’m asking, could anyone recommend a good shop in the Chicago area?
Thanks,
Jason

That sounds really high to me. Bear in mind - you can get your strut tower brace powdercoated, and it will likely only cost around 40$ to do it. the other pieces you should definitely have painted, but there's no way it's 10 hours of labor.
they may be overquoting you because they are afraid of the amount of prep work needed for the engine cover.
