2013 worth the trade?

Yeah same here. I know i should wait but every time a 2012 passes me and I see that 5.0 badge, i feel a twinge of saddness. Then i floor it and beat a chevy and that sadness goes away. But seriously is the difference in performance, handling, quality etc. worth having a car payment again and evrything else?

Mine is just about to turn over 47,000 miles. And for my trade in I don't know what I'd get. I don't know if I'd take my mods off and sell them seperately or sell it as a whole or what I'd do. Anyway, right now the only thing the dealer that's near me has is a leftover 2011 Shelby Gt500 that's been sitting in the showroom for a couple months now (I guess I could justify buying it and say it was the only thing they had) haha so for now I'm just waiting and watching.
On the other hand, if i decided to keep my car, how much would it take to get to 420 hp? I already have a CAI a Tb and a bama 93 tune. Would it be advisable to do that and save ALOT or just bite the bullet and get a 2013?

It's a nice ride for sure. Depends on what you want, but if you want more refined + faster..you will get that off the show room. My friend just traded an 06 GT for a 12..and he can't believe the difference in handling and power. He said it was like going from his 05 v6 to the 06 GT. He even went from a Premuim package GT to a base 13..and still loves it. He doesnt care much for looks...just the drive.

If I had your car? I would order myself a intercooled KB for it. Then I would take the car and get it professionally installed and tuned, and I wouldn't go high on the PSI. I know I've seen 05 4.6's running 9PSI with exhaust and a KB 1/4 in the 11s.

Have you thought about test driving a 5.0 to get a feel for the difference between the cars? That's really the only way you'll be able to gauge whether or not it's worth it from your point of view.

What he said, from what I see, if you going for 420HP your going to have to drop some serious money either way. So drive it and just see if you just cant live without it.

Yeah if i was going to do anything, it wouldnt be for awhile, I think I'll just enjoy my 06 for a little while. Cant really put 35k toward my weekend driver. The only way I'd do it is if I made it my daily driver which I have no problem spending that much for. or I'd take the Gt500 at my dealer for 57k. Haha but maybe I'll check out the end of the year deals on a GT.
