To Supercharge or Not to Supercharge
#23
If I had the extra cash I would definitely supercharge. Since you're considering a 2010 I'm guessing the old body style is not a requirement, why not go with a 2011 gt? I don't know what the cost difference would be but you wouldn't have to worry about blowing a motor you don't know the history of which does seem to be a concern.
I would also stay away from a salvaged car. I figure the potential headaches would cost more than getting a clean car even though that's stop no guarantee.

Buy a low milage 05-10 GT. There are various great twin screw supercharger deals available since there are so many 05-10 Mustang GT unsold Super Charger kits laying around in boxes around the country from the recession.
Then research the best(by direct referral) install shop in your area.
An 05-10 GT with a Saleen SC(for example), and a fit out suspension, still weighs about 45lbs less than a 5.0 Mustang, has the same front/rear weight proportion, and with a common JDM 8lb tune will make 420rwhp, and be a lot faster than the 5.0's.
You'll be looking at about $6000 including installation($1200 or so) even with a good clearance price. Erik
