Default electrical problems!

To start I've tried searching and couldn't find any answers to my issues.

car 2007 GT premium with security system.

So today I when to lock my car from the key fob and after a double click of the fob the horn did sound. I checked the doors hood and trunk lid all closed. parking lights flashed and doors locked just no horn. When I returned home after turning the car off and opening the doors I noticed the radio remained on. and now when locking the car with my fob the parking lights don't flash anymore either. anyone have any ideas for me. Thanks for any advice in advance.

OEM security system? Rain recently, since it's FL I'd say likely yes. Are you getting the water leak TSB? i.e. Is water getting into the drivers side foot-well area by the door messing with your SJB? Check the SJB, the grommet above, and the floor under the carpetting/padding on the passenger-side for water.

Yes, the oem security system. It did down pour hard yesterday. But the car was fine last night. The carpet under the sjb is dry. I am believing it is an sjb problem. Just hoping it isn't.

Could be signs that the battery in the car is having issues.

Sounds just like the water leak symptoms I had on my 2006.

If you're positive that the carpet below the SJB has NO dampness, then I'd begin looking at the electrical system. If it's the OE MotorCrap battery, then replace it regardless. Load test the alternator as this is another weak link in the S197's. Electrical gremlins are basically from the water leak or low/erratic voltage issues.

Scratch the dry comment. the carpet felt dry. just felt the layer under the carpet and it is soaked. and the rubber plug above the sjb feels loose. so looks like the sjb is now toast. can i just swap in another sjb or is this something I need to go to ford for!

Dry best you can, likely it will be fine once you fix the issue causing it and dry it out.

Many have had the same deal. Just fix the issue, dry everything out, wait a few days. Only about 5000 threads on the subject, including one on this page now with pictures and references..

You could also go FORD's way of "solving" it for 08's and above, and put a plastic cowl over it so it just FUBARs everything else but the SJB, then call it a day.

I pulled the sjb tonight took it apart. the circuit board has a clear rubber coating over most of the board. found alot of green corroded pins for the connections. going to clean it all up and hope that fixes it. i will update this once i reinstall and test it. And if that is the cure i will seal the hell out of every opening i can find.
