Default Exhaust leak

My car is nearing 120K and recently I noticed exhaust smell inside when idling... This did not happen before... When I popped the hood I could smell it, more on drivers side but things are very tight and I cant get a good look. I read online some people recommending Seafoam to get the smoke in exhaust, should I try? On the side, last night I was disconnecting the hose from the plastic intake right after the throttle body, the smaller upper hose, and the the plastic node/nipple just broke off, I guess it got fragile with age/heat, so now I am trying to glue it back on... What a stupid thing to happen! Nothing the duct tape cant fix thought LOL!

OK, I was able to glue the plastic nipple back to the intake manifold, and carefully connected the EVAP hose back... But really, is it safe to use something like Seafoam to pinpoint the exhaust leak location? Has anyone used Seafoam? I am reluctant to use something like MMO or Seafoam because I am afraid it will gunk up insides or the intake or hydro-lock the engine...

I have a can of seafoam, I've been afraid to use it. I've been able to find all of the problems with my 2000 with out it.

The easiest way I know of to find exhaust leaks is to use a paper towel tube, stick it on ear and put the other near the leak. It's usually pretty easy to locate the leak by the sound. Once you know the general area you can probably feel it with your hand.

Problem is - I do not hear anything unusual, I just smell exhaust in engine compartment a bit too much. It also goes to cabin air circulation too, not much, but quite noticeable when idling...
