Default How effective are gears?

Well, I was thinking this summer I would do cams, my intake, and maybe 4.10 gears

I was wondering how big of an effect they'll have on my acceleration? Thanks

I have 4.10s and I will say one thing: If you get them, you need some wider tires. If you don't have them, you will have a pretty much useless first gear.

I'm running some pretty wide tires on the rear as it is.

What will it do to my quarter mile time?

I haven't gone to a track so I can't tell you but I have a video of my current exhaust that I'm gonna upload today and you can see/hear the gearing difference.

Of all the mods I've done so far, gears has been the best bang for the buck.

Keep the idea that an F/I Stang should have 3.73 and N/A 4.10 BUT also that 3.73 is better for a DD and 4.10 for shorter driving/track cars more like because they are not good for highway driving.

Default 3.73

For a daily driver and a bit more fun go with 3.73. If u go with 4.10's you'll be sorry on the highway over 55!

Fine with mine at that speed. If I had a more than 25min or so daily commute on the highway/freeway I might re-think it, but I love my 4.10's. Better than even the tune.. Just way more fun.
