Eh? OP is manual trans. I have nothing to compare it to(I'd sooner get a prius, just as personal taste, I hate automatics), but I have 0 problem leaving it in 4th to dust..

1st gear of course is just about as close to bypassable as is possible..but that's different..

Cams are something that I MUST do. That or find a way to get my stock idle to be as loud as possible.

Drive a tuned 6R80. You won't "hate" it.

Had it toned down to this for DD though.

<--Control freak. I don't care that they can actually outdo many with decent speed shifting abilities with a good shift-point tune now, even if they got better than anyone could ever do. I still would be slamming my foot into the floorboard by reflex. Much of the fun to driving for me, is that sense of control.

Understood. We're just opposites. I don't even use manual trans in my race car video games. Auto for me please.

I can shift ALMOST as fast as an automatic. Not kidding.

The issue its just speed, there's also consistency.

No doubt. And to add to that, according to modders who use the stock 6R80 with modded engines pumping above 600 HP at the wheels, these automatics have not failed.
One modders made a guess that he 6R80 might be rated at over 800 HP ( I doubt it) but since these guys are exceeding 700 HP at the wheels, this auto gearbox took it.

The Chinese made MT82 unfortunately needs a lot of work before it can take that kind of power.
And the TR3650 of the OP will not take this kind of power too.

Anyway, going back to topic, I personally see no use for going 4.10:1 rear gears on a Tr3650 or MT82. Both of these MT gearboxes have very deep
1st gears to begin with.

The 4.10:1 rear gears will help gearboxes with very shallow 1st gears like he 2spd Touqueflight or a TR6060 with only a 2.66:1 first gear.
Other than that, 4.10:1 rear gears on an mt82 or tr3650 is only beneficial for a dedicated drag race car or for someone who wants to show off massive wheel torque in the lower tranny gears.

Here's the vid I promised. Before/after O/R H pipe, but you can hear/see the shift points that the 4.10 gives and make a judgement call for yourself.

I have a manual as well. The issue is that if I'm going, say, 50, and a guy gets up next to me and guns it, I can shift into 2nd for about a third of a second before I need to shift again. The 'sweet spot' for the 4.10s is either about 20 mph in 1st or 30-35 in 2nd.
