Default Thoughts on Saleen Short throw shifter?

Was thinking about putting a Hurst or Steeda short throw shifter in my 2005 GT. Then I ran across this Saleen on eBay. This should be the link:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/330723037073...84.m1438.l2649

I have no idea if it would even fit, but could probably get it dirt cheap. Was wondering if someone could share their thoughts.

Thanks

Ah I told you the mod bug would hit you real soon! But on topic I'd highly suggest looking at Hurst shifters. Really short, built well, easy for shops to put in. About 200 bucks for billet. I have on and LOVE it.

In regards to your link. I would not buy something so important as a shifter for 15 bucks, nor take the chance on if it fit. Trust me, a Hurst is worth every penny.

I had a hurst shifter, while I loved the way it looked it is way to clunky for the track. If you plan on running your car at the track get a mgw or pro 5.0

Saleen uses the stock Gt shifter they just add a block to the bottom to shorten the throws.

Id be very wary of that. Last summer I installed a Saleen STS on my 4.0. Its turned out to be a great mod, between that and AMSOIL atf the t5 is manageable, even likeable. Havent missed third once. But as said above, its just an extension of the shift arm, lengthening it before it connects to the transmission linkage rod. Its just a metallic block available new for $50 from the speedlab. Id highly recommend it if you dont want to drop the coin on a Pro, Hurst, or MGW. Install is real easy with some jack stands. Just make sure you give her awhile to cool down I burned the crap out of my wrist on the catalytic converter bc I rushed it.

Bottom Line:

THIS is the REAL saleen STS: http://speedlab.saleen.com/store_con...roduct_id=7019

What you found, while it has a saleen shift ****, may or may not be. For all you know its a stock GT shifter with the ****.

EDIT: Pics show that it has the saleen block. Spend the $15, take the shift **** if you like it and the block

Good feedback guys. Guess I will pass on this thing. Might check out the block. I will wait and hope for something for my birthday. So if any of you guys are feeling generous on June 19...

sure. 10 percent of $15 is $1.50. Next time I see you I'll buy you a coke

edit: in all seriousness though, I only bid because you said you weren't going to. I would have respected your right to it if you had said you intended to buy it.
