Anyone else notice the AC makes a pretty noticeable whistle type sound coming from passenger floor area? I google searched and found atleast 1 other person who has noticed it here :

If you tape this hole here it does stop the noise. Is this some important type of air inlet hole for the AC system? Anyone notice or fix this issue?

Looks like the center shaft for the motor. There should be a bearing just inside the plastic. I would visit a dealer if it was mine.....and while they are looking at yours, check out some others and see if the noise is there too.
