that being said - if it was really down to your two options, I'd get the v6. if I was content around 300hp, why not also get the better mpg?

alas, I wanted more, and there's something to be said about the sound of a v8.
That is my debate as well...both have about 300 advertised horsepower but the v6 has better mileage while the gt is a v8...nothing beats the sound of a heathy v8

The '08 would have more torque and would have FAR more potential than the v6 in the long run and speed parts are a plenty for the '08.

In my opinion you will get more bang for your hard earned $1 with the '08 GT versus the '13 V6
Yeah the horsepower range is definately a lot more usable with the GT. I think with a takeoff roushcharger i could get it low to mid 12s in the quarter where with the v6 a supercharger would be a lot more expensive. Also cams and heads are more commonly available with the 4.6 than the 3.7

The low torque on the older GT though would make a difference in what you feel in the car, but the the 13's have improved handling, comfort etc...which is also something to consider.
I test drove the sixxer and it was pretty fun. Only thing missing was the rumble of a v8! The inside of the newer model ones are a little bit nicer I think just because of the sync and new seats/dash layout for 2013.

not to hop on the v8 bandwagon, but the rumble of a V8 could be something you would want later down the road and regret. If power isn't that important, go for the v6 and get the nice amenities.

Well I own an 08 GT and a 2011 V6, and the GT does have more umph, plain and simple. The V6 does get up and move, but lacks the torque of a V8.

2008 GT! It's what I have. With cams, xpipe, axlebacks, and blower combo it is the best sounding muscle and boosted car hybrid in sound and "oompf" I could ask for. Would keep it over a 2020 V6. :P They are not comparable. Even with like HP, a V6 can not match a V8 in capability, sound, or torque.

I traded my '05 V6 for an '08 GT. I wanted more power, but my primary motivation was the rumble. I'll never buy a V6 Mustang again. Once you drive a V8 Mustang, going back makes absolutely no sense.

Lots more engine performance stuff around for the 4.6 V8, than the new V6. There's also something to be said for having a Mustang that sounds like it's got a V8 under the hood.
I've got an '08 GT, BTW (Bullitt). Still love it!

if you can afford a fully equipped '13 then you can afford a base 13gt or some 11-12 premium gts
