2013 v6 or 08 GT?
What up guys Im selling my 07 v6 just becasue I want something a little different. My local Ford dealer has a brand new 2013 v6 in Gotta Have It Green all decked out with full exhaust, rims, lowering kit, body kit, custom interior, you name it. Im thinking of going with that or getting a stock 08 GT and modding it from there. Any opinions?

Even though the new 3.7 is a welcomed improvement over the outgoing 4.0 you still have to rev the HELL out of it to get all 305 ponies. For a street car torque is where you should focus your attention. The '08 would have more torque and would have FAR more potential than the v6 in the long run and speed parts are a plenty for the '08.
In my opinion you will get more bang for your hard earned $1 with the '08 GT versus the '13 V6

If prices are comparable, which I doubt they would be, then I'd easily say the 2013 V6. 5 years younger + warranty + extras = good stuff. Plus the new V6s are pretty darn fun.
The low torque on the older GT though would make a difference in what you feel in the car, but the the 13's have improved handling, comfort etc...which is also something to consider.

Prices on used 4.6L S197 GT's have really come down since the 5.0L Coyote engine was introduced. You can find a low mileage 2005-2009 GT for a very good price IMO. I considered getting another 4.6L S197 GT after my 2006 was stolen, but in the end decided to get a "left-over" 2012 GT, which has a $2500 rebate going right now.

Also when I bought my '13 GT I got an appraisal from autotrader.com for my '07 GT and the dealer honored the price minus about $800. Might be a great way to get top dollar for your trade in to help offset some of that sticker price.

if you can afford a factory modified / "decked out" 2013 v6, I bet you can afford a 2013 5.0 without all the crap thrown on it.
that being said - if it was really down to your two options, I'd get the v6. if I was content around 300hp, why not also get the better mpg?
alas, I wanted more, and there's something to be said about the sound of a v8.
