Red face Dad said I broke the "Mustang Code"

Good Evening fellow Mustang owners/ drivers,
Here's what happen! I was driving my dads Mustang 2012 GT 5.0 (automatic), and I reach a stop light... Up comes another GT 5.0. It's a male driving of course and he gives me "The Nod" (You all know the nod!!).
Needless to say, since I was adjusting to the 5.0 from the 2008 Bullitt (I'm sure many of you know the differences) I thought the guy wanted to race! and I'd lose for sure, since i'm SUCH a novice in this car I have to "Start off" in second gear!! lol I totally blew the guy off!

Later when I got home I told my dad, in joking fashion about my run in, and he told me I broke the code... that I should have nodded back and declined any offer to race!
I didn't know! I was still trying to calm my heart from peeling off in front of a cop! lol

So sorry guys/ gals!!

Theresa

first I've heard of it.

one thing to keep in mind - most places consider racing on public streets around the same severity as a DUI. not a cheap lesson to learn. be mindful

@Entaille I wasn't aware of the serverity, but I was aware they dont take kindly to street racing. They see the car, they know the power behind it, so I can't imagine them being happy with someone abusing the speed limit. but I do thank you for the concern.

@Nyhm Nope! No racing, lesson learned today though is to ALWAYS nod back! lol

I can't really race mine anyway, it's only a V6 with no engine mods (yet)

Don't worry about it. I've had to swallow the ego and not race a few times in the last month since I've had mine. I guess at 31 I'm getting old(read boring) because I worry about killing someone or going to jail.
