Default 09 GT - new key

I purchased a used 09 GT and it only came with 1 key and FOB. Can I purchase another key and/or FOB on Ebay and then get a place to cut the key for me or do I need to go and buy it / cut it at a Ford dealer?

If I can buy a key blank off Ebay then where would I find a place to cut the key appropriately?

Walt

If you want the key to start the car, you have to go to Ford.

If you just want to open the trunk and the doors, you can just go to the hardware store.

You have to have two working, programmed keys to program another key. If you only have one key, then you have to go to the dealer to get one cut and programmed. Cost me $120 when I lost a key.

Once you have two working keys you can buy a key off ebay with the chip, have it cut by a locksmith, and then program the keys so you always have two available.

You are screwed if you want another fully functional key. You can however program more key fobs without going to the dealership.
