$15000 to spend, help!
Hello everyone,
It's been a long year and a half for me. I suffered a back injury at work and will be getting a settlement in 4-6 weeks. With this settlement money I have several options in front of me. After putting a substantial amount away in savings, I can leave 15-20 grand for my car. Question is, how do I spend this money? I have a 2010 GT with 20,000 miles on it. I can just keep this car and supercharge it, make it look pretty, ECT. Or I can trade this car in and get a 2013 5.0! I just don't know what I should do. I do love all the goodies inside my car like the navigation, backup camera, and leather. I priced a 2013 with the same options and its pushing 40 grand. I don't mind a new car payment but if I can make this 2010 a beast I would love to keep it. Thanks for your help!

Thanks,
But I don't know anyone who can just drop an engine in there. I'd rather keep it simple if that makes any sense. Lowering, supercharger, wheels, headers, ECT. That's my dilemma! Is it cost effective? Would it be a better investment to get a 2013?

It's 1:40am here on west coast, so I'll check on this thread later on and check the comments. I was going to Galpin Ford tomorrow but will stay away or else I'll leave with a Shelby! Thanks folks!

In a word NO. You should never go into a build thinking "cost effective"...you are paying to play, so to speak.
Sounds like to me you should just go with a 2013 and build the sucker exactly the way you want it. Now that's easy with a maximum amount of awesome included
Goodluck!

Alright you have 15 to 20 to drop into you 10' stang yeah an new 13' is quick but not as quick as you can make your car with 15 because a super charger price ranges from 3 to 5 and good heads can get up to 1 and lowering springs are about 220 and after you still have money to chip it dyno tune it and with the supercharged and the chip on the dunk you should have more horses than that Shelby

My turn to weigh in. Im running an M90 on my 10 with 4.10 gears (and you can read other mods too) and my car is a beast. I've beaten every 5oh I've come across, I can beat most bikes...the cars that are beating me have to be special in some respect. Now, I will say that probably every new 5.0 and the one boss Ive raced it wasnt a total a-whoopin but Ive won in every race with them. All they will need is mild mods to probably beat me.
And maaaannnn...the whine of that M90 SC is intoxicating. I would NOT trade my '10 for a 5.0 because there simply isnt enough to justify going to such a high price for no gain. The only car right now I'd consider trading mine in on is a '13 GT500...which oddly enough Im trying to avoid the Ford dealers today so I dont go buy one! lol
Out the door you can figure 5-6k for a SC install. Do some suspension work like springs and dampeners, (top end consider a Watts link which is about 1k), gears...etc...and you could make on beautiful ride. And still be under the 10k mark to look better and go faster than the current crop of 5.0's.
