Default Tail light trim

Has anyone bought this from American Muscle:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/black-...rim-1012.html#

If so how does the 3M tape hold up?

ANYTHING held in place with 3M tape will hold fine providing the prep and cure are both done correctly. Buy some solvent made for automotive surface cleaning. Some people swear that you need adhesive promoter but I feel that a good prep with a solvent is all you need. Application of the item with the 3M tape should be performed with a surface temp in the 60-80 degree F range and allowed to cure for up to 24 hours without driving the vehicle, if possible, and keeping the tape from getting wet, including dew.

My side scoops, quarter window louvers and rear window louvers are all applied with 3M tape and have been on with no issues for over 35,000 miles and 5 years and quite a few runs over 130 MPH. Good luck!

3M tape rocks. But sometimes in the past AM has shipped me stuff that was not 3M. If you get it and it's a knock off, go to the autoparts store and buy 3M. Everything else is junk.

BlueBellThunder,

We've had great results from the Tail light trim. We haven't had any problems with the 3M tape not holding or anything along those lines. If for some odd reason you do run into a problem, we stand behind all our products & will not leave you in the dark!

I hope this helps clear up your decision, let me know if I can be of any assistance!

That's true. When I had a problem, AM paid me in full for the tape that I bought so they totally stood behind it.

THAT'S why it didn't stick. NOTHING should come between the tape and the surface it's being applied to.

OK, hopefully that's my "stupid" for the night...

I put it on my car the same time I put new wheels on, So quite a few months ago. It's holding up fine and they make the rear end of the car look mean. Worth the cash.

+1 with Nuke 100%.
With adhesive tapes, the performance is almost totally decided by the preparation of the surfaces to be adhered, assuming you are using a quality tape product and not a cheap knock-off (made in China).
3M is the original and still the best.

Installed those on mine about 2 weeks ago. No issues & I'm pleased with how they look. Price is high, I waited & got them on sale for $84. Similar item for my 06 GT only cost me $50 & had those were on for 5yrs with no problems at all. As long as you prep correctly, you should not have any problems.
