Question How much air is in your tires? PSI?

Quiet weekend here and I'm at work...wanted to start a casual thread and was just curious to know what PSI you guys are running in your tires.

Please also post your tire size! Does your tire pressure differentiate from rears and fronts.

I have Nitto 555's: 255/45ZR18's on front and 285/40ZR18's on rear. I normally run 35psi on fron and 33 on rear. I also have Koni Sports and Steeda springs what smooth the ride a little when set to soft. My one time on the road coarse track we set the psi at 32 on the front and 30 on the rear after they heated up to improve traction in the corners.

275/40/18's @ 33 PSI.

But the pressure I run them at depends on the particular tire. I usually start at 30 PSI with a new tire, then work up in 2 PSI increments and adjust for the type of ride/handling I prefer. It often takes a few days of testing but I rarely run ANY of my current or past vehicles at anything more than 35 PSI. Above that, many tires have a degraded contact patch at high speeds.

What the sticker on the door says. 255/40/19 on 9" wheels <- all OE.

My wife’s Tahoe for some reason after alignment is still burning up the outer portions of the tires. I think she turns to damn fast. I went from 33 to 34 to burn out some of the center of the tire.

I have the OEM Pirelli 235/55ZR17, for which 32 psi is recommended. I check with a dial gauge on a monthly basis, but don't like to bother adjusting the pressure that often. When I add air, I inflate all tires to 35 psi. They all lose about 1 psi per month, so when the pressure gets down to 32-33 psi, I add air. If I'm going to travel on a winding back road, I sometimes inflate to 32 psi because the car seems to handle better.

BTW, there might be something beneficial about nitrogen. My neighbor, who is not interested in cars, has nitrogen in his tires. I check the pressure for him occasionally, and they rarely need inflating.

255/45-18 front, 285/40-18 rear with 34 psi all around. Filled with nitrogen at work 'cause it was FREE- pressures are amazingly stable.
