Default 2006 Mustang GT Dashboard Removal (top)

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to remove the top part of the dashboard (the part that makes contact with the windshield, where you can set stuff on top of etc)

I set a credit card on the dash and it slid down a crack in the very upper left corner of the driver side dash between the window and dashboard. Of course I need this card really badly for an upcoming event and won't be able to get a new one here in time >.<

None of the guides I have seen seem to deal with removing this part of the dash

I haven't dropped any credit cards down there, but mine rattles near the windshield. I've been wondering about taking that piece off myself to figure out how to make it stop rattling.

Sorry I'm no help.

The 'top' is molded into the rest of the dash. So to get it out you have to strip down the entire dash, remove the windshield to get to the screws at the back and completely unbolt it.
Ask me how I know lol it is terrible

I'd just yank the console completely. Instead of pulling it out all the way, just pull it forward enough to get at what he's after. It's a seriously painful undertaking in either case, but likely cost you less time and effort than that way...

Even if he did, I doubt he will respond. His profile shows his last activity was the day of his post you quoted. August 6 of 2012. Best to start a new thread explaining your issue and go from there.

Cancel that credit card and get a replacement-problem solved.

This is BS you don't have to remove the windshield. Remove the dash from the car and then you have access to screws that hold the top on. You made a lot of work for yourself if you removed the windshield. And even if you did you couldn't reach all the screws necessary to remove the top.
