Is trading a 2011 v6 for a 2008 gt an upgrade or downgrade?

You will be upgrading in torque, downgrading on the interior. But since it is a Bullit edition, the retro interior would probably be preferred anyway.
I love my '08 GT. I have the premium model with the interior upgrade package and the premeir trim package, so I love my interior. There are numerous tried and true mods available for the 4.6 that increase horsepower/torque. Just make sure you plan out what you want based on how you will be using the car.
$25,900 seems a bit high to me. You should be able to get them down under $20k...
Good luck!

yes, 25k is high.
you should be able to get it below 20 even under 18.
power potential is better with the 08. mod for mod, you'll get more out of the v8 than you will with a v6.
and exhaust sound is waaaay better.
i was looking at a 08 GT with 20k miles, and talked them dowm from 23k to 18k, but didnt' buy it.
turned out they got it on a trade in for 12k, and finally sold it for 15k.
i would talk them down in the price and buy the 08.

Concerned about losing your warranty, or does the Bullitt come with an extended warranty? How much are you losing on the trade in? If it's pushing $10K, I'd say don't trade / sell. Also, $25,900 is high.

That's a tough call, especially since you ordered your '11 exactly to your liking. Between the two, I think I would choose the Bullitt over the 3.7 v6. That being said, you definitely need to talk them down on pricing $25,900 is way too high!
Good luck with your decision!

I don't know what they are going for in the real-world market, but that Bullitt would have to be in the $18-19K range before I'd give it a second look. Depending on your tranny situation, I'm not too sure I would make this trade. If your V6 was mechanically sound, I'd have to give it the edge over the B.

I'd definitely go with the older GT's V8.
I happen to like the body style better as well.
The interior is not as flashy but it is plenty nice.
The seats are my only complaint in the 05-09 GT's.
When we had ours we had red seats and they would bleed the red dye off even if we just used WATER to clean them!
It was a horrible ordeal.
We were going to buy a new set of factory seats but soon found out
we could not find ANY used ones on Ebay or ANY other sites that were red, and
the factory seats from Ford cost an arm and a leg.
We finally ended up buying a set of Katzkin seats when we learned you can
get a full set(front and back) of Katzins (which are better quality AND nicer looking),
for the price of just the front seats from Ford lol.
As far as warranty, If you really are worried just buy a Ford Extended Service
Warranty. (ESP)
Stay clear of third party warranties, but REMEMBER some dealerships
actually sell third party warranties so be SURE to ask them if it is
a FORD warranty or a third party.
