My buddy has a 2010 Torch red Mustang and wants to paint his stock chrome wheels black
I can't help with what type of paint, but I'm sure the cost would probably be a couple hundred dollars to do... Why not powder coat them? It would likely be more durable and less prone to being damaged from brake dust.
Also, tell your buddy he needs to hurry up and create his own account...
Can always plastidip and then paint over the plastidip. Possibly trade his chome ones for equivalent painted ones. I'm always hesitant about doing anything over chrome due to proper adhesion.
Why does he want to paint his Chrome wheels Black, Kevin?...just a change?
Cam, he is not happy with the look of the chrome wheels and he wants to go with the red/black theme. He has the black hood spears and black vinyl side rockers and rear lower valance (sp?)

I never heard of painting over plasti-dip. Interesting.....
Here's a pic of his car and the chrome wheels. He already removed the side decal stripes.
I mentioned about maybe adding some black accents to the wheels, instead of painting them all black.

There are metalizers and a glossifier (link) that gets sprayed over the Plasti-dip... supposed to make it look less matte... I've never seen it in action, but if cheap is what your buddy needs, then maybe plasti-dip is the way to go...
