Default 06 water in floor board

so, after the last heavy ran, i noticed that my passenger side floorboard was really wet. well, yesterday, leaving my sisters house, raining all day, there was water dripping down on a plastic bag i had. made it home late, so i didnt get a chance to check it until today. it seems to be coming from the HVAC box. is this a common problem? im pretty sure its in there because when i accelerate or go around a corner, more comes out.

This is a well known defect in S197s. Ford knows full well about this. Call the stealership and tell them you want them to fix it.

I had the same defect and they did a great job fixing it on mine. Steamed the carpets and everything.

However i heard that in the future you can have electrical problems from the wires and circuits sitting in the puddles of water, but I haven't had any glitches yet.

good luck.

The drain is probably clogged. Look on the firewall left side engine. There will be a rubber plug attached to the firewall that the water is suppose to drain out of the bottom. It is more than likely clogged and that is your issue.

Nope, different thing, it's under the cabin air filter, the black vent that sits at the edge of the hood, remove that piece and look down and see if the grommet is clogged, more than likely it is, unclog it and you should be good to go

There's also a grommet on the driver's side. Check that one too.

Google TSB 07-14-6

There are many leaky areas on the 06, I just did the TSB fixes on mine a few weeks ago.

1) Two Rubber grommets in firewall get plugged up with leaves, etc.
2) Foam seals around the 10 windshield cowl mounting tabs.
3) The entire windshield cowl welded seam at the top of the firewall under the windshield cowl.
4) Rubber grommets entering the cabin thru the firewall.
5) Rubber grommets in both doors where they attach to the car body.

Good luck!

found it. pretty easy actually. you can pull them out without removing anything. passenger side was full of water, replaced the nasty air filter while i was there too. i went ahead and just pulled the drivers side too, full of mud, thank goodness it was just that.
