Default Mustang vs. Deer

Very bummed - I hit a deer yesterday morning on the way to work. It was dark and came out of nowhere. I was on the highway, going about 68mph. It scared the sh*t out of me.

Needless to say I need quite a bit of work done, i.e hood, bumper, fender, door, radiator, etc. I'm considering changing the hood out from stock (2010). Any thoughts or suggestions? Fortunately I do have full coverage (500 deductible).

Photos are at entry #14.

Since your insurance is already covering it and you have a small deductable I would spend the extra money on a new front bumper and hood if it were me. Not sure which I would recommend but might as well take advantage of the fact they will already be paying for the parts + paint and just pay the difference (if any) between oem and aftermarket.

When I got rear ended I upgraded to a GT/CS rear and I am so glad that I did. I only had to pay $100 out of pocket so it was a great deal for me and it looks so much better. I just need someone to hit my front bumper now...

I like that hood a lot! Probably one of the best looking ones out so far.

Hitting a deer that fast. I bet you need some work done! I bet you had to change pants after that!

The insurance adjuster called a little while ago, told me the estimate is just over $12,000 and will more than likely go up when the body shop gets into it more -

I like this bumper cover also.
