If you get a new fiberglass hood, I suggest you research the body shop and make sure they know what they're doing. I actually had a difficult time finding one around here who would work on fiberglass, and I'm still not that happy with how they blocked it.

Photos are at entry #14.
Yikes! I hate to hear that you've been in an accident, but I'm happy to hear that you're safe! You may want to give your dealership a call; dealerships that don't do body work on site usually have local shops that they partner with and can recommend their work.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me via PM.

The guy that runs the body shop didn't seem too concerned so we'll see. He did tell me the cost is lower than Ford OEM so that was nice to hear.

The body shop is associated with a large dealership in Mystic, CT. They say they can make it look like new. It's a lot of damage so I'm a little skeptical/anxious. I worry about lines and squeaks. etc.

The repair cost is over $12,000 at this point. He said it may go higher if they find damage they didn't include in the estimate. As far as my insurance company's policy, they will pay up to 80% of the blue book value so I figure that's between 17,000 and 18,000.

What bothers me the most is that I took such good care of the car - never driven in the rain, garaged all the time. Hell, I just waxed it 2 days before the accident

I agree! Also, I was surprised the airbags didn't go off. That would have really freaked me out.
