Is the OP looking to put a coyote in a 2005+ or a fox body? I'm confused.
Looking for shop that does Coyote engine swap in 2005-2009 Mustang
I was looking for the shop that did the Coyote swap in the 2005-2009 Mustang.

I initially started my search for the Fox Mustang Coyote engine swap when I noticed the S197 Coyote engine swap and thought that would be a better looking and performing option albeit the more expensive one.

My Fox Mustang needs to be totally gutted and painted as it was a beater that I initially bought when I was stationed in New Jersey for the powertrain to swap into my 6 cylinder 65 fastback. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know that New Jersey would mandate that I have to replace the rusted floorplans to register the car which was previously registered in Oregon.

I just did the 5 lug swap from Late Model Restoration on the Fox Mustang but I still need to rewire it as the previous owner did a hack job on the wiring and I have a constant short which is killing my battery.

Just trying to decide which Mustang project to proceed with or start the new one with a search for a 2005-2009 and then do the Coyote engine swap.

I also love my car but would gladly take a 5.0 if the opportunity was there

I love the old mustangs, but personally, I would only consider continuing with the '65 if it's a fastback, especially if it needs floorpans. If it needs floorpans, it probably needs the trunk floor replaced and inspect the frame rails especially well. You'll spend a lot of money on body repairs before you can even begin to think about engines and transmissions.

It would be a lot less hassle to get a 2005+.

I guess my post was confusing and for some reason I can't edit it.

My 1965 Mustang is fine. It was the Fox Mustang that had the rusted floor pans. Since NJ wouldn't let me register the car until I replaced the floor pans I wound up not swapping the engine and transmission to the 1965 which was in storage in Utah at the time.

It would take less money to fix the 65 if I just swapped the drivetrain from the Fox to the 65 fastback or just keep it a six cylinder. My first plan was to swap the Fox 5.0 to the 65 and then swap a Coyote into the Fox. That is how I started my search for the Fox Coyote engine search and found the 2005-2009 Mustang Coyote swap which derailed my plans.

After doing some more research last night, I finally decided to forego getting the Fox Coyote swap but will concentrate on the 65 Mustang getting swapped to the 89 Fox's drivetrain and then start saving to get a 2005-2009 Mustang.

I hope I have been clear in my posts as I can't edit them for some reason. Thanks for all the help and info.

The reason you can't edit them is because they're too old. I have a pic of a Fox motor in a 65/66 coupe somewhere. It looked weird to me.

You need a certain number of posts before you can edit yours. Time has nothing to do with it.
