Default Clutch Opinions?

Anyone want to weigh in on some clutch options? I am thinking twin disk, either AST,or Ram over the McLeod Because they come with a new flywheel inlcuded. The Ram is quite a bit cheaper but I have heard good things about AST. I am not making that much power - 2011 5.0 with a CAI and a tune - but I did have trouble with slippage at the track a couple of weekends ago. I left the line at 4500rpm and it just overpowered the stock clutch and tripped the clutch slip sensor. I drive my car every day, autocross it a lot and take it down the strip sometimes. Everyone has opinions, let's have em!

clutch slip sensor? I didn't know the new cars had that. Does the ecm use this information for something?

^ this. What the hell is a clutch slip sensor? Sure you don't mean traction control turned on? I dont see how the evu can have a sensor for the clutch and tell you its no good anymore

The ecm could tell if the rpms are increasing faster than the speed from the speed sensor, but I don't think this would be useful information.

I don't see how that would be real helpful but who knows with the technology nowadays but think the OP is talking about traction control. Leaving at the line at 4500rpm might engage it

Well in that case, turn traction control off. It is not doing you any favors. Use your right foot to control traction. I have a bad habit of using my left foot to control traction on the street, so don't rest your foot on the clutch pedal after shifting.

what kind of tires do you have?

Never heard of the clutch slip sensor.. I have 295 width pilot supersports and this stock clutch can handle their grip on the street easy.. Havent been to the track though

Also, how many miles are on your car?

Take traction control off by being at a complete stop, foot on brake , hold button for 6 seconds or more and it will totally disable it.
