If I'm not wearing my .40 its laying on the passenger seat under my jacket or in the car safe unlocked with the lid just laying down.

have you tried sites like cheaperthandirt and opticsplanet? id think the right driverside area of your footwell (or pending on if you're left or right handed) would be a good place. you can always fabricate one from a Blackhawk serpa holster.

I have yet to check these sites. I have searched through a few other forums and a lot of people are putting them in the passenger seat map pocket on the back. What do yall think?
