No offense, if you couldn't feel the difference then I dunno what to say. So I then have to ask why buy an 11 or 12, because it is the same car, only the engine has 8 less HP.

Did the one you drive have 3.31 gears? I have a 3.73 model and I could tell the difference between my 11 & 13.

and with 11 & 12's you get the oil squirters that ford did away with in the 13 5.0, and the early 11 & 12's are known to have 8th cylinder failure when tuned.

buying an 11 or a 12 is kind of pointless you're already driving the same car just a less powerful motor. at that point you might as well just cough up 8 grand and do an engine swap to a crate 5.0.

If you are happy with the color, options, etc ... of your 2010 .. just supercharge it and you'll be saving a lot of money.

I personally traded in my supercharged 2010 to a 2012 because I wanted a Glass Roof and Electronics Package. My 2010 had niether.

I did trade a FASTER car for a SLOWER car since I gave up around 40 or 50 RWHP going from the Saleen S/C 4.6 to the N/A and tuned 5.0.

Interesting! I guess it all depends on each individual person. I prefer the cluth on my 2013 GT over the 2010 GT. I also was immediately able to feel the power difference in the 13 over my 10. My 13 has the 3.73 gears, maybe you should test drive one with that option. I had a thread if you look it up about my 2010 and got excellent advise from the guys here. I was fortunate enough to have $20,000 to put into upgrading the 2010 but choose to trade it in for more power along with warranty and reliability in the 2013. I am now enjoying my 2013 and the extra 100 horsepower and still have my money to dump into a more robust engine in the near future. Good luck!

I'd have to agree with dmhines; that's what I did. $6500, give or take, will put a KB or whipple (I went with the latter) and ~470 rwhp. A Procharger would also be a good choice if positive displacement is not your thing... either way, it's more HP for equal or less money with less hassle, and (best of all) no face-time with salesmen or F & I guys.

Great info on negotiating the price both of the trade and the new Mustang in this thread!

Quick question: A $750 owner loyalty rebate was mentioned. I've been working a deal on a build to order 2013 and my dealer didn't mention that rebate. Does anyone know if that one is specific to certain states or regions? I know there's a $1,500 incentive right now. There was also a week where Ford was offering an extra $500 Black Friday cash, which is now expired. Getting the $750 would sure help make up for the fact that I missed out on the Black Friday one.

Also, the Ford financing APR rates aren't too bad now. Is there extra incentive for the dealer to give me a better price if they know I will finance through Ford? Or should I just get the best rate using some other financial institution (which might be a point lower).

My dealer is quoting right at invoice, minus the $1,500 incentive. I'd like to get him a bit lower, but maybe that's asking too much!

Thanks!

Well, if it helps I have owned 25 Mustangs... I am very FORD Loyal. The only thing I didn't get was the $500 FMCC incentive because I didn't finance. Dealer tried to talk me into it just for the money, but I refused. I don't care if it just would have been on bulk payment to FMCC... I just didn't want to deal with it.

Don't forget the $750 private cash you can get from the brochures, I did that for mine. I got X-plan -2000 ford rebate and -750 private cash.

I see everyone mentioning the 1500 rebate, here in NC we have a 2000 rebate.

You better go into the 5.0 gt section all the problems with the motors and trans issues I would not I cant believe how many motors and trans have been replaced on all these brand new cars! High price for low quality! See how many trade up for the 2015 and have the sameor worse problems for even more money! Thats why I would rather buy a used gt500 then these **** 5.0's I'm sorry but not worth the payment, aggravation, and then wondering if you have to flip the bill when ford voids the warranty hell no!!!!!!!!

If it works out for you financially, "I" would do it. The 5.0 is in a different league compared to the 4.6. Good luck with your decision

Of all the 5.0 stangs sold, the members on this forum represent a VERY small portion of those owners. And of all the members here with the 5.0, those with issues represent a VERY small portion.

I wouldn't hesitate to own a new 5.0.
