Procharge or swap

Procharge or swap
I got income tax coming in soon and was considering one of the 2 upgrades
1. Engine swap to a gt 4.6l
2. install a procharger kit.
both will give a great increase in performance, in the long run the gt swap is the most expensive but the procharger has a limit in power production.
this is my daily driver and therefore needs to be completly street legal in texas.
with both installs i will need the 8.8.
with the swap id have to get my new shaftmasters aluminum driveshaft re congifured, install the engine, tranny etc..( i would buy a wrecked gt) and will probably have to get a mechanic to assist,
with the procharger i can keep my ds and just blow my 7.5 but once again it wil be limited to the power .
what is you thoughts on it. also i have a finacial cap of about 5k

Procharger will be the easier route. To me it really depends upon whether you plan on keeping the car or not. The swap is the far more costly option. You could prbably find a way to do the swap if you're doing the work yourself. Other wise go with the procharger.

I have seen some cheap 4.6s and 3650s on craigslist a few times. Not really certain how much more is involved but I would think you could do it for a decent price

I agree.
There is so much more to just swapping an engine. The GT has a different tranny, rear end, brakes, suspension etc. Sell your car and a buy a GT.

I didn't listen to what most people said and I went with the motor swap. Now I am going to add the D.O.B./GT500 supercharger on to it. I couldn't be any happier. Here is my engine swap thread over on the collective.

The problem with trading it or selling it for a gt is he may owe money and more than the car is worth.
What kind of power can you safely make with a procharged v6? You're probably better off saving the money for a new gt in the future.

That was one hell of a income return. The most I ever received back was maybe $500.
I wish Uncle Sam would kick back enough $$$ to me to buy a Procharger
Anyway, for that kind of money, why not just buy an Aluminator engine? And since it is already built with true forged conrods & forged pistons, the following year when you get your next tax return, you could then add a supercharger on top of that.
