Where to get tuned in new jersey
Looking to get tuned somewhere in new jersey but im stumped on 2 shops. the car is getting cams put in, long tube headers, and a cross pipe. Its between TeamJDM and big daddy performance. Can anyone help out with which one is better and why?

What is their track record (no pun intended)? If you're not tracking the car, then why not go with a Brenspeed or Bama/AM custom tune? The vast majority of those on the forum that are running their tunes are very happy with those and a few others and the customer service has been superb. Dyno tunes may be able to squeeze out additional RWHP, expecially if your FI but most good custom tunes are close enough for most folks needs.

Take a little drive to Edinburg, PA and visit Terry at Street Lethal Performance! I can personally vouch that they have extensive knowledge with Mustangs, especially S197s. He just tuned my car on their in house dyno and it made +10hp/13ftlbs over my 93 race tune from Bama (and I think Bama does great tunes). Here's the vid:
If that's too far of a drive for you, check out NJStangers.org. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Also if all you're doing is some common bolt ons then having a dyno tune really isn't going to be worth the cost... and the mail order tune is probably your best bet. Shops like AM and Brenspeed are pretty experienced in S197s as it's all they really do, so even with cams and headers and what not they can dial them in pretty good and you're unlikely to improve on it with a dyno IMO. When you deal with superchargers and changing around boost and what not that is where a dyno tune will probably be most effective. Just my .02.

I think a dyno tune is absolutely worth the cost regardless if you are in a forced induction setup! My car's driveability is SOOOO much better now. Not too mention I picked up 5mpg under normal driving conditions...and I HAD a canned tune. Best mod I've done BY FAR. Call Street Lethal Performance, you'll be happy you did.
