I've been in this position for over a year now, just got the stepper motors in from Amazon and plan to do the fix in the next few weeks.

The gas light does still turn on at the appropriate time and if you have the message center, it will warn you when you are at <50 miles.

Good luck!
Sounds like your failing gauges are very similar to mine. The RPM gauge is off any where between minus 250-300 RPM. The temperature gauge works only when it is 60 degrees or higher. Gas gauge is working now, however it is sticking on occasion. The only gauge that is working properly is the speedometer (knock on wood).

Good luck with the fix and keep me posted!

Are the keys in the ignition when you fill up? That normally causes the fuel guage to get wonky.

Anytime you fill up, take the keys out of the ignition. it will register the correct level immediatly when you put the keys in afterwards.

I am not sure about freak2180, however, I always take my key out of the ignition when filling up. I've only experienced where the fuel gauge would stick at the half way mark. When I add a half tank of gas, the gauge would go way passed the full mark.

Update: My gas light did come on and my gauge was just over a 1/4 tank. So, the gauge is definitely off, but not by too much. LOL

I am not sure, however I would think so. My thermostat gauge only works when it is 60 degrees or warmer. As long as my radiator fan keeps kicking on and cooling my engine, I know everything is working fine. I also had it tested, when I had my clutch replaced and the temperature is in the correct range.

it's a common failure, make some replacement.
