Default ANYBODY HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH 3M TAPED HOOD SCOOPS?

im looking into a hood scoop and want to know if the 3m tape holds up good for a hood scoop or not.

It's not exactly just 3M tape, but something similar. Go talk to any body shop they'll tell you what to use.

The key besides 3m tape ie the red stuff is prep. You gotta clean the sh*t out of the hood. Wash and wipe down with alcohol. Then wipe it again and again. Then try to center it. Lol. The hardest part. Mines be on about a year and with 70 or so runs down the quarter mile and its holding tight.

Be sure to use a high concentration alcohol. Walmart sells a 91% that works well. The standard 70% does not work.

My Roush hood scoop had me drill holes in the hood along with the tape. The taped areas seem to hold well

I put a Roush scoop on my F150 with 3M. It's held well since 2007. Aside from the good cleaning I also used adhesion promoter. The scoop holds up well to long highway trips.
