Unhappy Hopefully someone will have the answers!! :( Need serious help!

Okay,

I have a 2006, V6, Ford Mustang.

So I already posted about this a while back, but the problem has continued/gotten worse. I was told to take my car into Ford and have the transmission fluid changed and have them check the fluid to see if it was burnt, or had metal flakes. I did all of that, and everything checked out fine, and I wasn't low on transmission fluid either. I told Ford about my problem and they claimed to have never heard of it before.

It doesn't do this everytime I drive it, but it is happening more often than before..

While I'm driving it, it randomly seems to fall into nuetral. My RPM'S will shoot up, but my car doesn't go any faster or slower than the speed it occurs at. (Almost like I just continue coasting). Then I'll press the gas to continue going, and most of the time it will catch and continue driving, sometimes it takes a few tries. It never happens on the freeway either, which really confuses me.

Hopefully someone has some input?! :/

Just a couple of questions that might help here:

From your description, I assume it is an automatic transmission...

Do you have any aftermarket modifications (e.g., tune, gears, etc.)?

It is an automatic!

Nothing aftermarket underneath the hood.

Maybe you have a closed artery in one of the solenoid passages in the valve body?

Did you step on the brake and tried to do burnouts? Maybe glazed over a few plates in the TC?

Is the fluid level the same while its running and when it's cold?

IS the transmission oil brown and have a burn't smell?

Roy_R;

Thanks for your help!!

I'm not sure about the fluid because I don't have a dipstick to check it, it's all enclosed. But I just recently had it changed when this problem started happening, and they told me everything looked okay! As for the color, same thing... I'm not sure :/

I've heard maybe shifter solenoids are bad. I guess I just need to get a good idea about what the problem is before I take it anywhere. Everyone just looks at me like I'm stupid when I pitch them the problem!

With out a mechanic being able to replicate the problem they might just think you are knocking it in to neutral and yanking their chain. Very interested to find out what it happens to be good luck man.
