Tire cupping. How quick do struts die?

To me, it sounds like weak strut damping, possible underinflation, or particularly sensitive tires, with the possibility of alignment settings not matched very well to the driving and those other conditions.

I have the same size tires on wheels only 1/2" wider. 5 track days, some autocrossing, and 15,000 enthusiastically (frequently VERY enthusiastically) cornered miles later the mounting hasn't been touched on any of them. Just an occasional rotation, and I'm still far enough out of the wear bars to get at least one more track day out of them (Mid-Ohio, this coming Monday).

An update after almost 3 years and 30,000 miles on the front suspension upgrade I did to address the tire cupping issue.

No funny tire wear or noises over this time. Quite happy with the improvement these parts made.
