Default Key Fob Disassembly

New to the forum.

I just got a new Mustang and the ONLY thing I don't like about the car is the easy to press "panic button" on the key fob.

I read my only option is to put something over the contact inside of the key fob itself. However, I do not see how to non-destructively take the entire assembly apart. I got the battery housing and the battery removed rather easily.

Anyone know how to disassemble the key fob entirely?

Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure about the disassembly but I got a new flip key and don't have any issue with the panic button.

I used to inadvertently unlock the door or the trunk when I bent over to clean the car and had the fob in my pocket. A cover cured that problem.

Maybe see if www.thejacketstore.com has something that would work for you.

Thats a VW key, howd you get that to work with your car? Or is a vendor selling VW look-a-like flip out keys now?

Are those ebay flip keys good quality? I've always seen them for sale but a lot of them were from China which had me second guessing buying one. A flip key would be nice to have.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I'd prefer not to have an ugly silicone cover on my new key.

Anyone know how to fully take apart the new Mustang keys so I can get to the contacts to cover up the panic button?

They are ford blank keys from a seller on eBay. They work great! Super easy to program. Several folks from another forum got them.

But they don't work with a 2006? I'd love a flip key.

Also, Are you sure it isn't like the 05-09 remotes? Slip a blade into the plastic where the front and back halves meet, where the key ring goes on and twist a bit. Popped it right open.
