Well that definitely up's my interest in that combo now if only I can get over this nightmare of a disaster i'm dealing with my mustang and the steeda/bama combo would come back in stock it's definitely gonna be top of the list of next purchase for vehicle.

The average butt dyno can feel about 8 RWHP. Very sensitive butts can notice 4-5 RWHP. Those with lead in their azz couldn't feel the gain unless they strapped a jet-assist to their azz...

On the 4.6L 05's thru 09's, typical gain over stock is 20-25 RWHP with a CAI & good custom tune where the bulk of that gain (~80%) is from the tune and who writes it. On the 4.6L '10, the gain is more on the order of 10-15 RWHP since the stock tune for the '10 is basically the Bullitt tune which already picks up about 10 RWHP over the 05-09. The gain on the 5.0 from a CAI & good custom tune is on the order of 30-40 RWHP.

Who writes the tune is more important than which model handheld you have. The handheld is simply the hardware used to upload/download the tunes to/from your PCM. The only user-adjustable parameters besides timing are benigne; tire revs per mile, gear ratio (to adjust the speedometer), fan switch temps; the parameters that truly impact performance are part of the tune.

I failed to mention the improved shift points on automatics as well as improved driveability for both auto and manual.

And if you ask about improving fuel mileage; yes, with an economy tune but little old ladies will pop you the bird as they pass you and forum members will have you turn in your man card.

Hey BaridGT,

You're welcome, I'm glad the information was able to help you out! I just looked into this for you and it seems the Steeda CAI is what's holding up that kit, but we have a shipment coming back in stock any day here now. Your best bet is to put yourself on the notify me when back in stock list on the actual product page and we'll hit you up as soon as they arrive at our facility!

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need some more assistance!

i also have an 07 with Ford Racing full exhaust and intake and pully system. Which is a better call... A JLT Series 3 CAI & SF3 Tuner or the BBK intake system? i know the BBK doesnt come with a tune but which would you guys recommend more? My current intake is also a JLT but it is a little old and the filter is starting to wear and crinkle due to vibration...

Check out this video of our
We installed just about the exact same modifications you have and are looking to purchase. We picked up 36+RWHP and 30+RWTQ, from just a Bama custom tune, CAI and O/R X-pipe!

Here's a little bit about how we write our tunes! For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Default New to the forums

Hey everyone. I'm looking at doing some modifications to my basically stock 2005 Mustang GT. The vehicle is bone stock with the exception of a Mac axle back I had installed a couple months ago. Now I love the sound it provides, but I'm really looking to take that farther. I'm looking to do headers (probably going with BBK ceramic long tubes), either an x or h pipe - I haven't decided yet, a cold air intake and a tune. I would really welcome any recommendations for a setup that gives me optimum performance. From what I'm looking at, it's going to cost me about $3k for all this stuff, so if anyone has any suggestions for less expensive but quality products, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

I have the Roush Axle Back and the Roush CAI and just bought the Diablo I-1000 Tuner from Tony at American Muscle on sale for $399 You get 3 Tunes and updates for life plus it downloads your Factory Stock Tune which you can restore if you need to take it back to the dealers and they will not be able to tell you had a Tuner on it. Believe me it makes a world of difference in throttle response and power. Gain of 40 hp and 40 on rear end torque. I took one 1/4 mile run without the Tune and got a 14.2 at 102mph then put the Tune on and had a hard time not smoking the tires and turned a 13.1 at 114mph what a difference with just one run.
