I also have a '13 GT with the Track Pack. My normal commute is 80% highway, and I average around 19mpg. My best highway mileage so far is 23. My worst tank was 16, that was the first tank after the break-in period

I traded in a 2003 4x4 F-150 Supercrew with the 5.4L on the Mustang though, so anything above the 13mpg it got is awesome

Yup, fuel economy is just a side benefit. I would not care it it got 15 mpg or 10 for that matter. Its not by DD.

I average about 22-23 mixed driving. Not bad for a 400hp V8. I guestimated that on a LONG trip, like my upcoming roadtrip of about 1500 miles, I'll average about 25mpg. It's basically interstate all of the way, only stopping for gas.

I've gotten up to 26 on the highway, that's cruising around 60 on 2 lane highways in sixth gear for about an hour. In the city I average between 18-19.

I really only drive the car on weekends and we took it on one vacation last summer, and we are planning on taking back to Michigan for another vacation this summer, so I'm really not too concerned about the mileage.

The window sticker says 16 city & 26 highway. I don't know how Ford came up with 26 mpg for the hwy, must have been a GT with the stock rear gears, because I get a best of 23 mpg and 13-14 city. Only 4600 miles on it so far so maybe it'll get better as the engine gets broken in, but I would think it's broken in by now........especially the way I drive it.
Are you other Coyote engine 11-13 GT owners getting the same mileage, or are you getting better?

Hi guys,

As you already know, driving habits and conditions can definitely cause your MPGs to change. If you feel it is not improving or it worsens, contact your Ford dealer for diagnosis. Then, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate it to the customer service manager for your area.

I have a 2014 GT with the 3.73. I get 17 in the city and I've seen it get up to 21-22 on the interstate with cruise at 65. I consider cruise control with 420 HP to be blasphemy. I want to feel the horses.

I average around 21.5 between city and interstate driving in my 13 automatic. I don't really get on it. That's why I have my race car.

you bought a 422hp V8 with brembo brakes and 3:73 rear end. did you REALLY think your gonna get great gas mileage? Should have bought the V6 w/2:73's like mine and enjoy 30mpg at 70mph...

I have a '13 GT with auto (I know, I know, why Auto - I can't shift that fast, that's why). I average about 19 city, and that's hard city mileage, with an average speed of about 23mpg, my commute is only 5.1 miles so the engine oil never actually reaches it's full operating temp. My highway average is about 23 MPGs at 75 MPH.

IMO these are great numbers. The Mustang is powerful but it's also heavy, has wide tires with a high rotational resistance. I have had some econo-box cars in the past, the most recent a 2011 Kia Forte, it was rated at 36 MPGs on the highway but if you maintain the speed limit here in South Texas you'll experience less then 25mpgs! Very disappointing.

Sorry for asking this, I feel less of a man for having to ask how to tell what gears one has in his Mustang GT. I do have the Brembo package but not sure if that means I have the 3.73 gears?
