Borla ATAK = Overrated... What next?

Borla ATAK = Overrated... What next?
So I am moving on to my third exhaust for my 2013 V6. I started with the Borla Touring, I got it for a good price, the moment I put it on, instant regret. Definitely better than stock, just not very loud. I traded for the ATAK's. Found a guy that had the ATAK's but after he added the LT and X-pipe, it was way too loud. Now the ATAK's were louder but I didn't think they were that aggressive unless you were over 3000 RPM. I definitely think Borla looks the best. the 4.5" tips are amazing. The quality is fantastic. Zero drone. I can see why they cost more than some of the others. However, it is not as loud as I wanted. I messed around with driving around without the mufflers in between exhausts. It is too unrefined and drones like crazy. I've been looking at the Roush as well as Magnaflow Comps. What exhaust do you guys have? What sounds aggressive?

i bought the Pypes Pipe-Bomb axlebacks for my V6. they work for the time being, but since they're straight pipes essentially, the drone is brutal sometimes (largely between 2800 and 3000 RPM and 3800 and 4000 RPM). i will say, however, that they sound outstanding outside of those RPM ranges (and windows down there is zero drone ha).
that said, i want to try roush, or flowmaster axlebacks. gotta sell these pypes first.

Go to a local Mustang meet and listen to what others have instead of spending more money. We can all recommend this or that, and you can watch them on Youtube, but until you hear it you'll really have no idea.

OP did you get the axle back ATAK's or cat back? I am in the process of looking for a cat back (as we cant have LT's here in Cali I will just get one whole kit) and was going to go with ATAK due to "it being the loudest" but your saying otherwise...

i cant speak to the 3.7s but i have the magnaflow catback with a GT h-pipe and i am mistaken for a v8 a lot. at the drift event i went to the other week several people that rode with me thought i was a GT. granted i dont think it sounds like a v8, but the magnaflows are easily the loudest pipes ive heard on a 4.0

i have it on my '10 gt with a catted x and i couldnt be happier. under 2,500 rpms its about 6-7/10 for loudness but anything over it a 10/10 easy. it screams when you open it up. i actually have set off car alarms just going by with the exhaust. although ive never heard it on a 4.0 so maybe that is why

How about the Bassani Axle-back Exhaust. I have a 3" Bassani exhaust on my GT500 and it sounds great. Here is one on YouTube on a 2013 V6. Hope this helps.

My Touring axlebacks are significantly louder than they were new. Probably about 2000 miles on them.
Might break in your exhuast a bit before changing. It does get louder over time.
Now WHY this happens? I dunno.

That seems like a lot of experimenting with some loud exhaust systems. Are you positive that its not something else? Maybe missing 2 cylinders?
You could get louder with the V6 and probably get a good sound. But getting the V8 rumble just isn't going to happen.
