Default Kenwood Navigation System

I've had installed a kenwood navigation system and everything is hooked up except for the VSS wire. I have an 05 GT. Kenwood says the wire is on the top part of the tranny on the back end of it. does this mean i have to drop the tranny to hook up this wire? i've been to two audio shops and a best buy and they can not fix this problem. i'm missing about half the navigation options without this wire being hooked up and i'm extremely pissed that kenwood did not tell me about this problem before i purchased it. if anyone has had a kenwood navigation system installed in their car, can you please help me. Thanks.

this is not my car, but it is the exact deck that i have in mine. Kenwood DDX7015, the newer one is the DDX7017, more backgrounds and a little better. i would also look into pioneer.

If you can get hold of a factory service wiring manual I think you will find like most cards, the VSS feeds to the computer, and depending on lacation (I'm not sure) there should be a point either near the computer or under the hood where you can splice.

I got the AVIC-D1 by pioneer and i loved it. No complaints about it. If you look around you can find it for around $1025 (at least thats what I paid). MSRP is $1599.

As for you problem sorry but I don't have a clue how to get to it.

Most new vehicles don't even have one. Kenwood makes a piece that will create a VSS wire by magnetizing a tire. Ask their tech dept. about it

See the attached PCM connector diagram. I am not 100% sure, but pin 19 may be your vss.
