Default Cheap Brembo Calipers ?

Hello.

I have found a person selling gt500 take off rotors for cheap

So I was about to drive there and pick up the 14" front & whatever is back.

Looking around, I noticed that there are a lot of people selling take off brembos for lots of different cars.

How many brembo calipers model exists ? I couldn't find any fitment manual.

Are all 4-pistons brembos the same ?
can I just buy a honda civic or whatever - take off brembo calipers and mount them on my mustang ?

thanks a lot for your help

2007+ GT500
2011+ Mustang GT Brembo Brake Package or Track Pack

Will require use of different wheels.

I looked into it quite a bit as some of the Kits with the pads, rotors, and calipers are only about $1200. but then you need wheels that will clear it (even my stock 18s would not). so all in all it was just too much monies for me. depending on your wheel size you could upgrade to 12.5 inch GT brakes or even 13.2 GT brakes (with 18 inch rims).

I believe I have the 12.5 (2011 v6).
I was thinking of the gt rotors, but they don't seem too much different from the own ones.

I have 20 wheels so that would not be an issue. However, I would need to replace my spare tire as it wouldn't work anymore.

That wouldn't be cheap either. Maybe I should go 13.2" with brembos.

Can the 4 pistons brembos be mounted on 13.2 ?
Do I need any special hardware ?

Pick up these take-offs calipers along with some pads and you will be set. As others have mentioned, these are Mustang specific calipers and may require a different wheel.

as far as i know, the brembo caliper wont fit on the 13.2inch rotor. if you have 20s, this kit would fit, and is a pretty good bang for the buck. I wanted this kit, but didn't want to buy new wheels.

also, the back rotors are the same size across all models afaik, V6-Gt500 so really you're looking at upgrading the front.

Just because you have 20's doesn't mean it'll fit. It's has to be at least 18x8.5 I believe. They stick out further than OEM calipers.

I picked up a full GT500 brake set (brembo fronts regular backs), pads, calipers, rotors, lines, and dust shields for 400$ off Craigslist. A guy has a contract with Shelby and takes their used parts then sells them. He literally had a pallet full of these sets.
They're all gone now tho

4-pistons or 6-pistons ?
thgis is a crazy deal either way... dang ! grab me one next time

I have 20x9 & 20x10 stagered. I hope it will fit.

I'll need to add the spare tire cost in the upgrade though: I doubt the factory v6 spare will fit these 14 monster rotors .. ;(
