I agree with this and with the possible increased vandalism risk. find a house with a garage to rent, probably cheaper than your apartment anyway.

Hopefully I can offer some advice here. I kept my car parked outside while living at at apt complex for a year and a half.
4. Try to find a a corner spot that will allow you to hug the curb. Also, make small talk whenever you see your neighbors that park next to you outside. Being nice to them goes a long way in determining how careful they are around you car.

I bought my dad a car cover a while back but we never used it.. too risky; the fact that dust piles up at any second, it will rub between the cover and the car and cause it to leave marks. I wouldn't recommend it. Although it does protect the interior from sun damage! but thats what sunshades and tinted windows are for
