I agree with this and with the possible increased vandalism risk. find a house with a garage to rent, probably cheaper than your apartment anyway.

4. Try to find a a corner spot that will allow you to hug the curb. Also, make small talk whenever you see your neighbors that park next to you outside. Being nice to them goes a long way in determining how careful they are around you car.

Good luck
TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS!!!!!!!! When I lived in an apartment complex this was the best method for me (besides what's already been mentioned)...You'd be surprised who and how many times your car gets noticed...And this was back before the S197 era...I was driving a sedan! (though a slick contour)...A s197 get noticed A LOT!

I bought my dad a car cover a while back but we never used it.. too risky; the fact that dust piles up at any second, it will rub between the cover and the car and cause it to leave marks. I wouldn't recommend it. Although it does protect the interior from sun damage! but thats what sunshades and tinted windows are for

If there are any sprinklers around your car that spray on it, get that car rinsed off with fresh water before it bakes in the sun. One google search and you'll see what I mean.
