Default Borla Stingers Drain Hole

Hi everyone, I recently purchased and installed a set of Borla Stingers axle backs. When I was installing them, I noticed that there was not a drain hole on either muffler for condensation to come out. Both the stock ones had one.

Do I need to drill a hole in my Borlas for the condensation to drain out? And more importantly, will it void my warranty?

Thanks

I would avoid doing so lol if it didnt come with them, then I wouldnt worry about it.... I have the FR500s and they dont have drain holes and I believe they are the same muffler (or very close to the stingers) with different tips.

Bought my car used with Roush mufflers. After a few months noticed rust inside the tailpipes and found several threads where others drilled drain holes...which I did and about 12 ounces of water came out of each muffler. I understand Roush has since added factory drain holes. I wasn't really too concerned about the warranty. Don't know alot about the Borlas but thought I would share similar experience.

Not sure about the Stingers but my S-types didn't have them. Just by accident I ran across a thread talking about the drain hole.

It made since that my mufflers were holding water. Every morning it would have tons of condensation out the mufflers.

When I drilled mine out this is how much water drained out....

Hmm, I just ordered the Borla Atak and They didn't have holes drilled either...I might call Borla and ask about it because I'm not keen into drilling into ANY part of my vehicle.

Just contacted Borla, They advice drilling a hole in the Faceplate at the rear of the muffler. The S-Type and Atak on the Mustang GT are the only known issues. Newer Systems come with the holes already drilled, I had the man I spoke to email me a PDF Containing instructions of were to drill the hole if yours does not have one. If anyone would like the PDF just Message me and I'll provide you with it! (drilling of the hole in the PDF DOES NOT effect the sound/integrity of the muffler or the warranty!

I just received an email from American Muscle. The rep said that he had heard of a hole needing to be drilled on the 2011+ S-type mufflers but not on the 05-09. I don't know why there would be any difference. I'm still going to wait on a reply directly from Borla before I do anything.

Hm, wonder if i should drill holes in my Aerochambers? Especially since they have an aluminized case and I'm worried about them rusting out anyway...

had my stingers for years and never had issues. You need to drive your car more to burn off the water
